Zelensky meets Norway’s Crown Prince, thanks for €9 billion in support for Ukraine
President Volodymyr Zelensky, during a meeting with Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, thanked the government and people of Norway for allocating €9 billion in support for Ukraine this year and emphasized a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership in the defense sector.
According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian President shared the information on Telegram.
“I thank Crown Prince Haakon of Norway for the meeting. I informed him about the ongoing Russian strikes and the situation on the frontline. Russia continues its terror against people and life. That is why, together with our partners, we are doing everything possible to bolster air defense and enhance protection,” Zelensky said.
He stressed that Ukraine is developing a strategic partnership with Norway in the field of security and defense.
“We are interested in a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership that will strengthen the defense potential of both Ukraine and Norway, in particular through the development and implementation of the Drone Deal,” the President stated.
He also expressed gratitude to the government and all Norwegians for their support.
“I am grateful for the allocation of €9 billion in assistance for this year. This is important for Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
As previously reported, on April 14 in Oslo, Zelensky and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre signed a declaration on defense partnership, launching a Drone Deal between the two countries.
