Support for Ukraine to be one of key topics at G7 foreign ministers meeting in France
Support for Ukraine will be among the main issues discussed at the meeting of foreign ministers of the Group of Seven countries, which will take place on March 26-27 in France.
France's Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs stated this, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
The meeting will be held at the Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay (Yvelines department) as part of France's G7 presidency, chaired by France's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noel Barrot.
According to the statement, the ministers will discuss ways to address major international crises, including Russia's war against Ukraine, as well as the situation in Iran and the Middle East.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will take part in the summit. A separate working session dedicated to support for Ukraine is scheduled for March 27.
In addition to Ukraine, foreign ministers from several partner countries – Saudi Arabia, Brazil, South Korea, and India – will also participate in the G7 ministerial meeting, along with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Paris emphasizes that the meeting is intended to provide political momentum for developing concrete initiatives during France's G7 presidency, particularly regarding global governance reform, post-conflict reconstruction, and addressing transnational threats.
A bilateral meeting between participants and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also scheduled for the second day of the event.
As reported, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to France on March 27 to attend the G7 foreign ministers' meeting.
