Ukraine secures new defense agreements with UK, Spain – Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that new agreements on defense support for Ukraine and coordinated protection were reached during his visits to the United Kingdom and Spain.

According to Ukrinform, the head of state announced this in his nightly video address published on Telegram.

"Today, I am already back in Kyiv after intensive visits to the United Kingdom and Spain. We have new defense agreements, which concern both weapons production and support for our entire society," Zelensky said.

According to the president, during the visits Ukraine presented its own capabilities to partners to strengthen joint defense and protection.

"We will continue this work. And it is evident that the need to coordinate efforts and to pool capabilities is now greater than ever," he said.

As previously reported, a declaration on deepening cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom in the field of security and the defense industry opens a new stage in bilateral relations and effectively represents a true defense alliance.

Key topics of Zelensky's meeting with the speakers of both chambers of Spain's parliament included defense support for Ukraine and strengthening air defense.
