Sybiha meets with newly elected president of Chile
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha meets with newly elected president of Chile, who is visiting Chile, met with the country's newly elected president, José Antonio Kast.
According to Ukrinform, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry wrote about this on social media X.
Sybiha said that he had conveyed a personal message from President Zelensky to the elected leader of Chile, along with his best wishes for success and an invitation to visit Ukraine.
“We discussed areas in which we can strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation: from agriculture to digitalization and unmanned technologies. Ukraine is ready to work closely with the new administration, open a new quality of relations, and realize their full potential,” the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry wrote.
He also briefed Kast on the situation in Ukraine and peace efforts. Despite Russian attacks, the minister stressed, our country has held its ground and overcome the most difficult winter.
Ukraine will welcome the active role of the new Chilean administration in the peace talks, Sybiha said. “I am grateful to Chile for its consistent support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ultimately, this is not about Ukraine, but about shared principles,” the foreign minister stressed.
Sybiha added that he highly appreciates Chile's assurances that its support for Ukraine and the earliest possible restoration of peace remain unwavering.
As reported by Ukrinform, on March 10-13, the Ukrainian foreign minister is visiting Chile and Panama for the first time in 13 years.
