Zelensky to visit Romania on March 12 – media
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will pay an official visit to Romania on Thursday, March 12, where he is expected to meet with his Romanian counterpart Nicusor Dan.
That is according to Romania Journal, citing sources from digi24.ro, Ukrinform reports.
This will be Zelensky's second visit to Romania since his trip on October 10, 2023, when the Ukrainian leader met with then-President Klaus Iohannis at the Cotroceni Palace and signed documents on a strategic partnership between Ukraine and Romania.
A planned speech before the Romanian parliament was canceled, officially for security reasons, amid internal political tensions caused by extremist Romanian MPs.
Zelensky has also been invited to Bucharest in May for the Bucharest Nine (B9) summit, the report said.
This year's B9 summit is scheduled for May 13, 2026, and is considered a major event for the security of NATO's eastern flank, especially given the tense regional context
In June 2025, Zelensky held his first meeting with newly elected Romanian President Nicusor Dan.
