US claims to have sunk more than 30 Iranian ships
The head of US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, has stated that the US military has sunk more than 30 Iranian ships.
According to Ukrinform, the BBC reported this.
Cooper noted that over the past 72 hours, US bombers have struck nearly 200 targets in Iran. As of Thursday, the US has sunk more than 30 Iranian ships, he added.
"And in just the last few hours, we hit an Iranian drone carrier ship roughly the size of a World War II aircraft carrier. And as we speak, it's on fire," Cooper said at a press conference on Thursday.
The US Central Command posted a video on the social network X showing the destruction of a large ship, emphasizing that US troops “aren't holding back on the mission to sink the entire Iranian Navy.”
As reported by Ukrinform, on March 4, US War Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that an American submarine had sunk an Iranian military ship off the southern coast of Sri Lanka.
