PURL program currently operates for Ukraine as before – Zelensky

As of now, weapons supplies for Ukraine under the PURL program are continuing as usual.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this while speaking with journalists, responding to a question about whether the situation surrounding Iran and the Middle East could affect the PURL initiative for purchasing weapons from the United States.

"Of course, this issue concerns us. That is why we are in contact with our partners. Just 10 minutes ago I spoke with the Chancellor of Germany and also raised this issue. So far, there have been no such signals from the Americans or the Europeans. Everyone understands that this particular weaponry is our life. For now, the PURL program is working. I am working to ensure there are tranches from our European partners. So far, everything is proceeding as it has been," he said.

Zelensky added that the Ukrainian side understands that the duration of the war and the intensity of hostilities will affect the amount of air defense systems available to Ukraine.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on February 28, the United States and Israel carried out joint strikes on regime facilities in Iran. After that, Iran attacked U.S. bases in Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan.
