Ukrainian Parliament ratifies agreement with Canada on exchange of classified information

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has ratified an agreement between Ukraine and Canada on the mutual protection of classified information.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, legislative initiative No. 0316 was adopted with 256 votes.

The adoption of the initiative establishes a legal framework for protecting classified information, the exchange of which, when necessary, will take place between authorized entities of Ukraine and Canada.

On the Ukrainian side, the entities responsible for implementing the international agreement include state authorities, enterprises, institutions, and organizations that, in accordance with national legislation, carry out activities related to state secrets.

At the same time, ratification of the agreement will help ensure parity in measures for the mutual protection of classified information that is transmitted or created during cooperation between Ukraine and Canada.
