European Commissioner Lahbib inspects Darnytska CHP in Kyiv, damaged by Russian attacks
The European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, was shown the Darnytska Combined Heat and Power Plant in Kyiv, which was damaged as a result of Russian attacks.
According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine stated this on Facebook.
Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Anatoliy Kutsevol acquainted Lahbib with the consequences of the Russian strikes on the energy facility, which provided heating to over 1,000 apartment buildings, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and other social infrastructure facilities.
Kutsevol thanked the European Commission for its contributions to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, which amounted to a total of EUR 249 million.
The Ministry of Energy noted that these funds were directed toward critically important priorities, including support for the transmission system operator "Ukrenergo," decentralized renewable energy solutions, "Centrenergo," gas turbines, preparation for the heating season, and the physical protection of energy infrastructure.
As Ukrinform reported, on Thursday, February 12, the European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, arrived in Kyiv on an official visit.
