Greece does not plan to join Trump's Board of Peace

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will not join US President Donald Trump's Board of Peace, whose first meeting is scheduled for February 19 in Washington.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Ekathimerini, citing government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis.

“It is not on the prime minister’s schedule,” a government spokesman told a press briefing on Thursday.

It is noted that the Peace Council was initially presented as a “body” consisting of a small group of leaders who would monitor the ceasefire in Gaza.

However, the US president later invited dozens of countries to join the Board of Peace and suggested that this organization could serve as a broader body for conflict resolution.

As reported by Ukrinform, the EU has questioned Trump's new peace initiative to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip due to the US president's practically unlimited powers in the Board of Peace and the concentration of power in one person's hands.
