State Border Guard Service refutes reports that Deineko resigned from military service
The State Border Guard Service has denied reports in some media outlets that the former head of the agency, Serhii Deineko, had allegedly resigned from military service following a decision by a military medical commission.
This was stated by State Border Guard Service spokesman Andrii Demchenko to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“As of now, the information about Serhii Deineko's resignation from military service is not true. Military service and resignation from it are regulated by the Law of Ukraine on Military Duty and Military Service and the relevant Regulations on Military Service by Ukrainian Citizens in the State Border Service of Ukraine,” he said.
As previously reported, journalist Vitalii Hlahola, citing his own sources in law enforcement agencies, reported that the former head of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Serhii Deineko, was found unfit for military service due to his health condition and dismissed after a military medical commission. According to Hlahola, the relevant order was allegedly issued on January 27.
