Fedorov appoints tech blogger Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov as advisor

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has appointed tech blogger Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov as advisor on defense technology.

According to Ukrinform, Fedorov announced this on Telegram.

"We are strengthening electronic warfare and communications on the front lines — Flash has joined the team of advisors. In modern technological warfare, it is important to understand innovation trends, anticipate Russian plans, and develop products that can turn the tide on the battlefield. We are strengthening this area with people who have already demonstrated a real ability to perform these tasks," Fedorov said.

According to him, Beskrestnov is an advisor on defense technology.

“He is one of the strongest practical experts in the field of drones, electronic warfare, and analysis of enemy decisions. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Flash has been working directly on the front lines and conducting training for the military in the hottest spots,” Fedorov emphasized.

Flash's expertise covers radio communications, electronic warfare systems, and reconnaissance. He was the first to report on the Russians' use of FPV drones with machine vision and jet-powered Shaheds. Now, he primarily focuses on systemic solutions against Russian combat and reconnaissance UAVs.

“We must reduce the effectiveness of enemy attacks and protect our people. The development of electronic warfare is critically important — in war, the winner is the one who adapts faster,” Fedorov noted.

Simultaneously, Flash will also work on other technological areas of defense, including dealing with captured enemy equipment; analyzing logistics; studying enemy decisions to turn this experience to our advantage; and conducting expert assessments of new military developments.

"We don't need ‘ideas on paper’, but solutions that really work in combat right now. Today, war is about mathematics, technology, and speed of decision-making. We must not just react, but build a system that constantly evolves and becomes stronger. That is why we are reinforcing the team with new leaders. We are moving systematically, quickly, and working for results," Fedorov emphasized.

As reported, Serhii Beskrestnov, better known by his pseudonym Flash, is a specialist in communications, electronic warfare, and intelligence, and is involved in private communications-related business. Since the start of the full-scale war, he has been volunteering to teach the military how to use electronic warfare systems. Beskrestnov studies Russian electronic equipment and combat drones and develops scenarios to counter the new, modernized models the enemy is using on the front lines.
