Macron: Coalition of the Willing provides 100% military support to Ukraine

The coalition of willing countries currently provides all international support for Ukrainian military resistance, with France alone providing two-thirds of Ukraine's intelligence capabilities in the war against Russia.

This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday, January 15, in his New Year's address to the army at the Istres airbase near Marseille, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

"We have built real, credible security guarantees for the day after peace. Monitoring the ceasefire line, rebuilding the Ukrainian army, deterrence forces, second-level security guarantees for everyone who takes part in this. And we did this for the first time in our history by creating an integrated Franco-British command, with the involvement of our American partners," Macron reported on the work of the coalition of the willing.

He recalled that it brings together not only EU countries, but also Britain, Norway, Iceland, Canada, as well as Japan and New Zealand.

"In a year, this coalition of 34 countries has awakened. Today, it provides all of Ukraine's support. One hundred percent of what is financed for Ukraine in its war of resistance is provided by the coalition of the willing," said the French president.

He called it a massive and historic breakthrough that gives real weight to European defense.

Also, according to Macron, France now provides two-thirds of Ukraine's intelligence capabilities.

“Where a year ago Ukraine was extremely dependent, overwhelmingly on American intelligence capabilities, today two-thirds of these capabilities are provided by France. Two-thirds!” he emphasized.

Referring to the content of the joint declaration following the coalition meeting in Paris on January 6, Macron noted that the partners are ready to continue to deter aggression and support the resistance of the Ukrainian people.

“The message sent to our Ukrainian partners, other Europeans, and the whole world is that we are ready. We are ready to support these resistance efforts. We are ready to deter new aggression or maintain peace on our land,” he added.

As reported, Macron convened an emergency meeting of the French Defense Council.
