Ukraine to get analogues of Russian Molniia drones - MoD Fedorov

Ukraine urgently needs to introduce new weapons, including drones, which will increase the depth of damage to the Russians.

This was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada before his appointment as Minister of Defense, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

"We urgently need to introduce new weapons, including drones, which will increase the depth of damage to the enemy. We have already made this decision at the last meeting and are now implementing it. That is, analogues of the Russian “Molniia” should appear in our country, we have a large number of manufacturers who do this," Fedorov said.

He said that the army needs to be equipped with long-range fiber optic drones. “Therefore, we clearly understand what to do with this, and this is one of the key things that needs to be implemented in the near future,” he explained.

Fedorov added that the creation of cyber forces in Ukraine is part of a symmetrical war. "And of course, we support this. But we need to first understand the human capital that is already in the military and working on cyber operations. Therefore, we will move forward gradually," he said.

Fedorov noted that the audit of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue. “We will understand how effectively we are working today with the human capital that is already in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We will understand how effective the current additional payments are in achieving the tasks we need to accomplish. And, based on this, we will propose or adjust the contract that was proposed earlier,” Fedorov said.

He assured that financial support and social protection for the military is his priority.

Fedorov said that there is already a vision for what to do with the issue of the Territorial Center for Recruitment. "We need to hold additional consultations, work with the committee and with the President. In the near future, we will present our vision of what needs to be done," he said.

Commenting on the issue of providing the military with drones, Fedorov expressed his conviction that a minimum level of provision for each brigade needs to be introduced so that they can plan their actions for the coming months. “Because today, 80% of the supply goes to a certain number of units, and we need to even out this schedule so that all our units, including the Territorial Defense Forces, have enough drones to work on their section of the front,” he added.

As reported, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that in 2025, the Russian aggressor sought to end the war by defeating Ukraine, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces prevented critical breakthroughs by the enemy, thwarted its plans, and prevailed.
