Netherlands’ PM: Partners ready to provide robust security guarantees for Ukraine after peace deal
Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof said that during a meeting in Paris, the Coalition of the Willing together with the United States confirmed their readiness to make a substantial contribution to security guarantees for Ukraine if a peace agreement is reached.
According to Ukrinform, he announced this on the social media platform X.
“In Paris today, the Coalition of the Willing and the US confirmed their willingness to make a substantial contribution to security guarantees for Ukraine in the event of peace, also necessary to achieve that peace. We are focusing, among other elements, on the joint monitoring of a ceasefire, strengthening the Ukrainian army, and also the security of Ukraine. It is now up to Russia to show that it is prepared to agree to peace. If a peace deal is reached, the Netherlands’ possible contribution will, of course, depend on political decision-making,” the statement said.
As reported by Ukrinform, following the meeting in Paris, the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing, Ukraine, and the United States signed a joint statement titled “Robust Security Guarantees for a Solid and Lasting Peace in Ukraine.”
