U.S. declares Western Hemisphere its sphere of influence
The U.S. Department of State has declared the Western Hemisphere a sphere of influence of the United States.
This was stated in a post published by the U.S. Department of State on the social media platform X, according to Ukrinform.
“This is OUR Hemisphere, and President Trump will not allow our security to be threatened,” the State Department emphasized.
Following a U.S. special operation in Venezuela, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in interviews with U.S. media outlets, including NBC News, that Donald Trump administration is determined to prevent the Western Hemisphere from becoming a safe haven for drug traffickers, Iranian proxies, or hostile regimes that endanger our national security. According to him, “the days of weakness are over,” and the United States will use all means necessary to eradicate these threats from their “backyard.”
“This is the Western Hemisphere. This is where we live – and we’re not going to allow the Western Hemisphere to be a base of operation for adversaries, competitors, and rivals of the United States,” the Secretary of State said.
As reported by Ukrinform, U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations Michael Waltz said that the operation in Venezuela was a lawful law-enforcement action against two individuals accused of serious crimes — Nicolás Maduro and his associate Cilia Flores.
