Umerov, Fidan discuss return of Ukrainians from Russian captivity in Ankara

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the security situation and the return of Ukrainians from Russian captivity during a meeting in Ankara.

According to Ukrinform, Umerov stated this on Facebook.

The sides also exchanged views on the progress of negotiation processes and discussed coordination of further steps. Particular attention was paid to the humanitarian track.

Turkey, Umerov emphasized, is an important partner of Ukraine and one of the key platforms for dialogue.

"We continue our work in close cooperation," he stated.

Following the meeting, the NSDC Secretary briefed President Volodymyr Zelensky.

As Ukrinform reported, Turkey's Chief Ombudsman Mehmet Akarca confirmed that lists of missing persons, as well as seriously ill and severely wounded Ukrainian prisoners of war, had been handed over to Russia.
