Zelensky: Trump joins European leaders’ talks in Berlin
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that US President Donald Trump joined the negotiations of European leaders, which took place today in Berlin.
The head of state announced this while responding to questions from journalists, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“Together with the Europeans, we spoke with US President Trump today. We communicated with him personally about all these steps [referring to five documents concerning the peace plan, security guarantees, and the restoration of Ukraine],” Zelensky said.
He suggested that when the documents are finalized or the parties are close to a final version, “we will meet with him.”
The president added that he is very pleased that while working on these documents, it was possible to unite the United States and Europe.
As reported by Ukrinform, today's joint statement by European leaders, released after talks in Berlin, indicates that Ukraine, the US, and European partners have agreed on the parameters for achieving peace in Ukraine, which include security guarantees, in particular, the development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the possibility of deploying peacekeeping forces, monitoring the ceasefire, etc.
