Turkey again ready to host peace talks – foreign minister

Turkey insists that there are no winners in war and no losers in a just peace, and is ready to offer Istanbul as a venue for peace talks.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said this at the opening of the 16th Ambassadors Conference in Istanbul, Ukrinform reports, citing Hürriyet.

"The Russia-Ukraine war is entering its fourth year. There are no winners in war, just as a just peace has no losers. Istanbul still retains its status as the only venue where the parties can meet. Turkey is once again ready to set the table for peace negotiations," Fidan said.

The minister stressed that the horizons of Turkish diplomacy have no limits and that Turkey has and will continue to have a voice in regional crises.

As Ukrinform reported, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier stated that the Black Sea should not be viewed as an arena of confrontation and must remain safe for navigation. Achieving peace, he said, is realistic, and efforts should remain focused in that direction.
