Zelensky: work on ending war, securing guarantees for Ukraine ongoing on three fronts
President Volodymyr Zelensky received reports from Head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, noting that efforts to end the war and define security guarantees for Ukraine are progressing in three directions.
“Today, there have already been several briefings from Rustem Umerov on the work of our negotiating team. It has been quite an active day,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
According to the President, in Germany, a defense working group is being prepared to focus on the details of security guarantees for Ukraine. The Ukrainian delegation is led by Lieutenant General Hnatov, with participation from the Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and security services.
In the United States, a working group on economics, reconstruction, and investment has been launched and is actively operating. The Ukrainian side includes Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka, and Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksii Soboliev, along with other expert advisors.
The third area of work, Zelensky noted, involves continuous coordination among national security advisors and all participants engaged under the leaders’ decisions.
“Today, as on almost every day, communication continues between the United States, Ukraine, European countries, and other participants of the Coalition of the Willing. On our side Rustem Umerov moderates these discussions. Across all areas, our goal is the same – to bring the war to a real conclusion and to define the steps that will make peace dignified for Ukraine, with security and reconstruction – guaranteed,” Zelensky wrote.
Earlier, while visiting Kupiansk in Kharkiv region, the President emphasized the importance of achieving results on the frontlines to support Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts.
