Zelensky announces new sanctions against Russia
New sanctions decrees will be issued tomorrow as part of ongoing pressure by partners on Russia for waging its war.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in his nightly video address.
"We will introduce new sanctions decisions – building on our partners' pressure on Russia for this war – and our sanctions, which we will effectively implement jointly with our partners, so that the world exerts pressure on the aggressor in exactly the way needed to weaken Russia's ability to wage war," he said.
Zelensky also noted that Ukraine's sanctions proposals will be forwarded to all major partner jurisdictions.
Earlier reports said that European partners were coordinating further tightening of sanctions against Russia targeting its oil, technology, and financial sectors, as Russian leader Vladimir Putin shows no willingness to stop his aggression.
