European Parliament changes agenda: Ukraine peace plan to be discussed on Wednesday
On Wednesday morning, the European Parliament will hold key debates with statements from the European Council and the European Commission, as well as a vote on a resolution regarding the proposed plan and the EU’s role in achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
The proposal by the EPP, Renew, the Greens, and others was unanimously supported at the start of Monday’s plenary session in Strasbourg, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“It is clear that we must define our position on this American proposal — both the initial and the revised version. As a parliament, we have had a broad majority in support of a consistent policy of backing Ukraine, and this must continue,” MEP Michael Gahler explained.
As reported earlier, the European Commission welcomes the constructive progress achieved in the weekend negotiations on a possible peace for Ukraine but warns that “much work lies ahead.”
