Zelensky meets Dutch FM to discuss drones, energy support, and Russia’s accountability for war crimes
During a meeting in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelensky and Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs David van Weel discussed Ukraine’s energy support, joint drone production, and the opening of an office of the tribunal for Russia’s war crimes.
This was reported by an Ukrinform correspondent.
“We have launched important decisions on joint [with the Netherlands] production of drones, which is crucial for us. We are also grateful for the significant support for Ukraine. The Netherlands is among the top five donors, with more than 4 billion euros in support this year and over 13 billion euros since the start of the war. This is support exclusively for Ukraine’s defense industry and our army. These are very important decisions that have only strengthened Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
He also thanked the Netherlands for the newly announced energy support package worth 25 million euro.
In addition, the President highlighted the important decision by the Netherlands to open an office of the tribunal for war crimes committed by the Russian Federation. “We are grateful for this. It is very important. We are confident that the war will end. When we say we want a just peace, above all, we want a tribunal for all criminals,” the head of state said.
He emphasized that “this is a signal that justice exists and must prevail.”
As reported, Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday, October 28.
