Zelensky, Pavel discuss new defense initiatives during phone call

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone call with Czech President Petr Pavel, during which he expressed gratitude for Czechia's continued support and discussed new initiatives aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.

The Office of the President of Ukraine said this in a statement seen by Ukrinform.

"The Head of State thanked the Czech Republic for its assistance and support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people since the very beginning of the full-scale war. Volodymyr Zelensky informed his counterpart about Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities and communities, on energy and other critical infrastructure," the statement said.

Zelensky noted that Russia uses hundreds of drones every day.

Both presidents discussed continued support for Ukraine, including the Czech initiative to supply artillery shells and other ideas that can help strengthen Ukraine and our defense right now.

The presidents agreed that the teams of both countries would promptly follow up on all the discussed issues.
