Stefanchuk arrives in Germany, meets with Bundestag president
Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk and Bundestag President Julia Klockner have agreed on a schedule for further talks and identified key topics for interparliamentary dialogue.
Stefanchuk reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
Stefanchuk has begun an official visit to Germany. His first meeting was with Klockner.
"We agreed on the schedule of upcoming negotiations and defined key areas of interparliamentary dialogue. We continue working to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and Germany," he wrote.
At Klockner's invitation, he visited the Bundeswehr Artillery School, where he examined equipment provided by Germany to Ukraine and observed a modern training complex where Ukrainian artillery personnel are mastering new weapons systems.
Stefanchuk also met with Ukrainian servicemembers undergoing training there, as well as Ukrainian engineers engaged in equipment maintenance and repair.
He noted that he was impressed by their motivation, high level of preparation, and professional dedication.
"Ahead lies an intensive program of meetings with our German partners. We will discuss strengthening defense support, developing joint weapons production, bolstering Ukraine's air defense, ensuring long-term financial assistance to our state, and mechanisms for using frozen Russian assets," Stefanchuk said.
Klockner invited Stefanchuk to pay an official visit to Germany on October 12-14.
On October 13, Stefanchuk is also scheduled to meet with German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
