Ukraine welcomes Trump's plan to end Gaza war, calls for its swift implementation
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has welcomed the announcement of U.S. President Donald Trump's comprehensive plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
According to Ukrinform, the ministry said in a statement that Ukraine highly values the leadership of the United States in efforts to restore peace and stability in the Middle East, as well as in maintaining international peace and security.
The ministry views the proposed plan as an important contribution to achieving a just and sustainable settlement based on the principles of international law and taking into account the legitimate rights and aspirations of the peoples of Israel and Palestine.
"We call on all parties to proceed with the swift practical implementation of the plan in order to stop the war, overcome the humanitarian crisis, and save human lives. We are convinced that the plan's realization will help restore security for the entire region, grounded in respect for international law and the UN Charter," the statement said.
On September 29, following a meeting at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump stated that reaching a peace agreement in the Middle East was closer than ever before.
