Starmer, Trump to discuss ending Russia's war against Ukraine – The Telegraph
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer plans to discuss ways to end Russia's war against Ukraine with U.S. President Donald Trump during the American leader's brief visit to Scotland.
According to The Telegraph, the two leaders will hold one-on-one talks focused on further support for Ukraine.
The meeting in Scotland is expected to address potential pathways to ending the Russia-Ukraine war, particularly in light of Trump's recent remarks criticizing Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
In addition, Starmer and Trump will explore how the UK and U.S. can capitalize on the new trade agreement signed between the two countries in May.
Starmer is expected to enter more contentious territory as he seeks to explore further steps that could be taken to secure an "urgent" ceasefire in Gaza.
The White House has confirmed that Trump will visit Scotland from July 25 to 29, where he is scheduled to meet with Starmer.
On July 14, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III would host Trump for a state visit to the United Kingdom in September.
Earlier, in late February, Starmer conveyed an invitation from King Charles III to Trump for a future state visit.
