Start with Moscow – Ukraine MFA responds to Lavrov’s “denazification” remarks
The demand by Sergey Lavrov, the foreign minister of the aggressor country, to enshrine “denazification” in the peace agreement demonstrates that Russia rejects peace efforts and resorts to ultimatums in 2022.
This was emphasized by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, on social media X, according to Ukrinform.
“Proper "denazification" must begin from Moscow, given its treatment of other ethnic groups—Azerbaijanis and the rest of the South Caucasus, Central Asia, Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars, and others,” the diplomat said.
According to Tykhyi, Lavrov's bellicose rhetoric demonstrates that Russia rejects peaceful efforts and instead resorts to ultimatums in 2022.
The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on partners to immediately “hit Russian ‘denazifiers’ with new, tough sanctions to bring them back to reality.”
As reported, in an interview with the Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Ukraine must enshrine its “denazification and demilitarization” in a peace agreement with Russia.
