Canada, Italy discuss assistance to Ukraine

Canadian and Italian Foreign Ministers Melanie Joly and Antonio Tajani have discussed further support for Ukraine in deterring Russian aggression.

Melanie Joly wrote about this on her page on the social network X, Ukrinform reports.

“Glad to connect with my Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani, to discuss Italy’s presidency of the G7 this year. We discussed the conflict in the Middle East, the need to continue supporting Ukraine’s fight for freedom, and our respective engagement in the Indo-Pacific,” the minister posted.

As reported, since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Canada has provided Ukraine with military assistance worth almost $2 billion. The total amount of various Canadian aid to Ukraine, including humanitarian and financial, has exceeded $7.5 billion since the beginning of last year.
