Zelensky, Rutte discuss training mission for Ukrainian pilots

In a phone call, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte discussed the starting dates of the F-16 training mission for Ukrainian pilots and coordinated positions on the eve of the NATO Summit in Vilnius.

The relevant statement was made by the Head of State on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

President Zelensky held a phone conversation with Prime Minister Rutte from Türkiye. According to the President of Ukraine, he expressed support at a difficult political moment.

The parties discussed defense cooperation, preparations for the Global Peace Summit, and set the dates for starting the F-16 training mission for Ukrainian pilots.

In addition, Zelensky and Rutte coordinated positions on the eve of the NATO Summit in Vilnius.

“Thank you for the steadfast principled stand of the Netherlands regarding the Russian invasion, as well as for recognizing the Holodomor as genocide by the House of Representatives of the Netherlands,” Zelensky concluded.

A reminder that the Netherlands will start training Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 fighter jets as soon as this summer.
