Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on Brazil to join Zelensky's Peace Formula

At the meeting with Chief Advisor of the Presidency of Brazil Celso Amorim, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk called on Brazil to join the Ukrainian Peace Formula.

“During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of bilateral agenda, as well as the possibility of involving Brazil, together with other partners of Ukraine, in finding ways to ensure stable and lasting peace in Ukraine based on respect for international law, restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” reads the statement by the Ministry of Foreign of Affairs of Ukraine.

In this regard, the deputy foreign minister praised the intentions of President Lula da Silva to facilitate reaching peace in Ukraine. He invited Brazil to engage actively in the implementation of the Peace Formula initiated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

Melnyk expressed gratitude to Brazil for the consistent support for our country within international organizations, solidarity with the Ukrainian people who are suffering heavily from Russian aggression, as well as for humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion.

While discussing the priority areas of trade and economic cooperation, the interlocutors emphasized mutual interest in expanding, deepening and filling with concrete content the strategic partnership relations existing between Ukraine and Brazil.

As reported, President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva criticized the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He noted that he is "committed to finding a peace formula to end the conflict." Earlier, Lula da Silva offered Ukraine to cede Crimea to end the war.
