Blinken discusses Ukrainian issue with Israeli Foreign Minister

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a telephone conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen. Officials discussed, in particular, the issue of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The spokesman of the U.S. State Department Matthew Miller told this, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The Secretary and Foreign Minister discussed global issues of mutual concern, including recent developments in Sudan, Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, and cooperation on countering Iranian malign influence," the State Department spokesman said.

The spokesperson also said that the American side reaffirmed its support for Israel's security and called on the Israeli side and the Palestinian authorities to take more steps to stabilize the region.

As Ukrinform reported, last week a delegation of the US Congress, led by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, visited Israel. During this visit, the issue of support for Ukraine was raised, among other things.
