Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has met in Kyiv with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, who visited Ukraine for the first time in the history of bilateral relations.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said this in a statement posted on its website on Friday, May 5, according to Ukrinform.

According to the statement, both parties discussed food security and Bahrain's participation in the rebuilding of Ukraine. Kuleba invited Bahrain to participate in the international Ukraine Recovery Conference that will be held in London this June.

"We had a very deep, thorough and frank conversation, for the first time in the history of our relationship. We agreed not only to intensify bilateral relations, but also relations between Ukraine and the Gulf countries, particularly in the format of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf," Kuleba said.

He said Ukraine and Bahrain were working to intensify business contacts.

Ukraine's foreign minister informed his Bahraini counterpart about the situation at the front and familiarized him in detail with President Volodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula. The minister invited Bahrain to take an active part in its implementation, the ministry said.
