Stefanchuk, Portugal’s parliament speaker discuss Ukraine's accession to EU, NATO

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk and President of the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal Augusto Ernesto Santos Silva have discussed the issue of Ukraine's accession to the European Union and NATO.

The speaker of the Ukrainian parliament said this at a joint briefing with the president of the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal in Kyiv, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We discussed the issues of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. I want to thank the Head of the Assembly for agreeing to support Ukraine and providing certain practical assistance for this important path of integration," Stefanchuk said.

In addition, the Verkhovna Rada chairman said that they discussed topics related to the Peace Formula proposed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as the creation of a special international tribunal for the Russian Federation.

At the same time, according to Stefanchuk, a number of issues related to military, political, humanitarian and financial support for Ukraine were discussed.

Stefanchuk thanked Portugal for the assistance provided to Ukraine.

As reported, the delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal attended a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on May 3.
