Pelosi sure both parties of U.S. Congress will support Ukraine until victory

The former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, is confident that both the Democrats and the Republicans of both houses of the United States Congress will continue backing Ukraine as long as it takes to win.

According to Ukrinform, she stated this in an interview with AP.

"Support for Ukraine has been bipartisan and bicameral, in both houses of Congress by both parties, and the American people support democracy in Ukraine. I believe that we will continue to support [Ukraine] as long as we need to support democracy ... as long as it takes to win," Pelosi said.

According to her, there is a fight in the world now between democracy and autocracy, its manifestation at the time is in Ukraine.

"We must win. We must bring this to a positive conclusion — for the people of Ukraine and for our country," Pelosi said.

Pelosi visited Ukraine on May 1, 2022 – just over a month since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. At that time, she was the highest-ranking elected U.S. official to lead a congressional delegation to Kyiv.

In January this year, Republican Kevin McCarthy replaced Pelosi as speaker of the House of Representatives.
