President Zelensky: There can be no defense taboos on security assistance to Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insists that there can be no defense taboos on providing security assistance to Ukraine, including the supply of long-range weapons and aircraft.

The relevant statement was made by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint press conference with President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel and President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“I believe that one of the key conclusions of our today’s conversation should be that there can be no defense taboos on security assistance to Ukraine. Any artificial defense restriction for Ukraine is just another terrorist opportunity for the Russian Federation. It is absolutely fair to provide our warriors with everything necessary to protect the most important thing – life,” Zelensky said.

In his words, this refers to long-range modern weapons, aircraft, artillery and armored vehicles.

“We are preparing for the counteroffensive, and everyone knows it. Hence, I will not disclose the details of our agreements,” the President of Ukraine added.

According to Zelensky, any assistance provided to Ukraine, each air defense system, each military aircraft, each gun, and each armored vehicle, which are used by Ukrainians to defend themselves against Russian aggression, are the lives saved.

In addition, the Head of State briefed the leaders of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic on the situation on the battlefield and Ukraine’s current prospects.

A reminder that, on the morning of April 28, 2023, President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel and President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová arrived in Kyiv.
