Shmyhal calls good start to developing relations with China Zelensky–Xi conversation

The telephone call between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Chinese President Xi Jinping opens a new stage of bilateral cooperation between the countries.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said this at a press conference in Rome, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"This conversation, I am convinced, opens a new stage of our cooperation with China. I believe that this is an extremely good start for the development of our future relations," Shmyhal said.

As reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held an hour-long telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping on April 26.

As Ukrinform reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal arrived in Italy on Wednesday, April 26. In Rome, he took part in a bilateral conference on Ukraine's recovery, met with the President, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic and the heads of the Italian Parliament. Pope Francis received Shmyhal on April 27, on the eve of the pontiff's apostolic visit to Hungary.
