Slovakia has supported granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union. The Chairman of the Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk expects the same support for Ukraine's further European integration.

The Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk said this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

Ruslan Stefanchuk met for the first time with the Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Boris Kollar.

"During the conversation, I emphasized that another strategic goal of Ukraine is NATO membership and support of Slovakia is important to us," he said.

The parties discussed in detail the issue of the special tribunal. The Slovak parliament passed a resolution supporting its establishment.

"Today I heard from my colleague a firm position: Russia is an aggressor country that must be punished and must compensate for all the damage caused to Ukraine," Stefanchuk said.
