Ukraine's PM arrives in Canada

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal of Ukraine is today on his first official visit to Canada.

That's according to the office of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

On Tuesday, April 11, Shmyhal will hold a bilateral meeting with Trudeau in Toronto. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Chrystia Freeland, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Melanie Joly, and the Minister of National Defense, Anita Anand, will join the meeting.

In Toronto, Shmyhal and Trudeau will also take part in a signing ceremony and hold a press conference.

After lunch, the Ukrainian and Canadian delegations will hold a working lunch closed to the media.

Shmyhal's visit to Canada will be his first since he was appointed Ukraine's prime minister. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Canada in July 2019.
