Parliament dismisses Patskan as Accounting Chamber head

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, backed the no-confidence resolution against Chairman of the Accounting Chamber Valeriy Patskan.

MP from the Holos parliamentary faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, announced this on Telegram.

According to him, 250 MPs voted in favor of the relevant decision.

Thus, Valeriy Patskan was dismissed from the post of chairman and member of the Accounting Chamber.

Patskan called it “a political decision”. "From the state point of view, it is a fully political decision, which, I am sure, will be given a legal assessment in the future," he wrote on Facebook.

As reported, in October 2022, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau informed Patskan about the suspicion of illegally receiving UAH 117,650 in compensation for housing. In early November, the Accounting Chamber head wrote a letter of resignation.
