It is not in China's interest to provide weapons to Russia in its war against Ukraine - Macron

Every country which provides assistance to Russia in its war against Ukraine becomes an accomplice to aggression and a violator of international law. It is not in China's interest.

French President Emmanuel Macron said this during a conversation with journalists at the French Embassy in Beijing, Ukrinform reports referring to the Guardian.

"We have decided since the beginning of the conflict to help the victim, and we have also made it very clear that anyone helping the aggressor (Russia - ed.) would be an accomplice in breach of international law," Macron said.

He added that "it was not in China’s interest to provide weapons to Russia in its war against Ukraine".

"China’s interest isn’t to have a lasting war," the French president added.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that any supply of lethal Chinese-made weapons to support Russia in its war against Ukraine would be a big mistake that could disturb global stability and security.
