Biden discusses support for Ukraine in phone call with Meloni

U.S. President Joe Biden spoke with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the phone following his trip to Kyiv.

“President Biden spoke with Italian Prime Minister Meloni tonight on the phone following the President’s trip to Ukraine and ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit to Ukraine,” the White House said.

It is noted that the two leaders discussed their ongoing close coordination on the issue of support for Ukraine, including security, economic, and humanitarian assistance.

The White House said that President Biden looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Meloni to Washington D.C. “when their schedules align.”

As reported by Ukrinform, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni plans to visit Kyiv ahead of February 24, the one-year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale. On Monday, February 20, she met with President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw.
