Israeli parliamentary delegation arrives in Kyiv – Ukrainian ambassador

An Israeli parliamentary delegation led by the chair of the Knesset Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee, Yuli Yoel Edelstein, arrived in Kyiv on Monday, February 20.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk said this on Ukrainian television, Ukrinform reports.

"An Israeli parliamentary delegation headed by the head of the Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee, Yuli Yoel Edelstein, is in Kyiv today," Korniychuk said.

According to the ambassador, the visit of the Knesset delegation to Ukraine a few days after Israel's Foreign Minister Eli Cohen shows that the Israeli political community "heard American colleagues who are not satisfied with the level of Israel's cooperation with Ukraine."

"They heard them to a certain extent. And it should also be remembered that the Israeli society quite actively supports Ukraine," Korniychuk said.

In this context, he recalled that the visit by the Israeli foreign minister to Ukraine was full of "meetings and promises."

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen visited Kyiv on February 16.
