Norway helps Ukraine by providing air defense systems, anti-tank weapons, and artillery, restoring energy infrastructure, and creating a precedent of long-term financial support.

“You help us with air defense systems, and this protects our cities from Russian terror. You help us with anti-tank weapons and artillery, and this saves Ukrainians from the expansion of Russian torture chambers and abuse on our land. You help us with the restoration of energy after missile strikes and Iranian drone strikes, and this returns people to normal life,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said, addressing a special session of the Storting (Norwegian Parliament) via video link.

At the same time, he emphasized that the draft decision on the long-term financial support for Ukraine currently being considered by the Norwegian authorities will create a precedent.

According to him, such a decision is important because it gives a feeling that “you have tomorrow. It gives you the feeling that tomorrow, just like today, you will have a reliable partner by your side.”

“Ukrainians and Norwegians are exactly such partners. We share the same values, and therefore we are united in defense. United in defense, and therefore united in future victory. And it will be a solid basis for the security of everyone in the world if your view of resilience becomes a guideline for other defenders of freedom,” Zelensky underscored.

According to media reports, the Norwegian government will present Thursday its five-year aid package to Ukraine worth NOK 75 billion (almost EUR 7 billion).
