European Commission President hands over report on 2nd part of EU membership questionnaire to Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky received the European Commission's report on the second part of the questionnaire filled out by Ukraine to obtain the EU candidate status.

"President of the European Commission gave me today a report on the second part of the questionnaire that Ukraine filled out while gaining candidate status. I am very glad that it is so thin, this is good news," Zelensky said at a joint briefing with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, this report will become the basis for the further work of government officials.

The President also said that today and tomorrow in Kyiv, Ukrainian officials are working together with European partners to prepare the next phase of Ukraine's integration into the EU, to strengthen protection against Russian aggression, in particular in economic, financial, social, energy, and humanitarian areas, and to rebuild Ukraine.

As reported, on February 2, a meeting of the members of the College of EU Commissioners will be held in Kyiv. On February 3, the 24th EU-Ukraine Summit will take place.

On April 18, 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky handed over the first part of the completed questionnaire to obtain EU candidate status to Head of the European Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas, and the second part of the questionnaire was submitted on May 9, 2022.

On June 23, 2022, the EU heads of state and government granted Ukraine EU candidate status.
