Ukraine, France's top lawmakers talk peace formula, weapons for Ukraine

In France, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, discussed the peace formula initiative and the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine with the Head of the National Assembly, Yael Braun-Pivet.

Stefanchuk announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"French Republic. Official visit. I held a first meeting with the head of the National Assembly of the French Republic, Yael Braun-Pivet. In the following days, I will have a number of meetings that are equally important for our country," he wrote.

The focus of attention during the meeting was on weapons for Ukraine, reconstruction, President Volodymyr Zelensky's peace formula. The parties also discussed holding the Russian Federation accountable for its crimes in Ukraine, ensuring its international isolation, and the need to recognize the Russian Federation as a terrorist state.

Stefanchuk thanked France for its leadership in announcing the decision to transfer light wheeled tanks to Ukraine.

"Thank you for the already provided military-technical and financial assistance, in particular for air defense systems, artillery, projectiles, personal protective equipment, and armored vehicles. I am grateful for your participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine and sheltering our citizens," he added.

As reported by Ukrinform, Stefanchuk will be on an official visit to France from January 30 to February 2.
