Ukraine parliament speaker, Lithuanian president discuss international isolation of Russia

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseas have discussed the international isolation of the Russian Federation.

The Ukrainian parliament speaker said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

“The expulsion of Russia from the UN Security Council should be held under the slogan ‘They’re not there!’ I discussed the issue of international isolation of Russia at a meeting with a friend of Ukraine, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda,” Stefanchuk said.

He noted that Russia as a terrorist state neglecting international norms and international law must be deprived of the right to participate in international organizations.

Stefanchuk said that at the meeting, both parties had discussed the need to create a Special Tribunal so that Russia gets a verdict for all crimes it committed in Ukraine and against Ukraine.

In addition, he said, the sides discussed the willingness to begin talks on Ukraine's accession to the European Union and the prospects for Ukraine's membership in NATO. In this context, Stefanchuk thanked Lithuania for supporting Ukraine along the way.

He also emphasized the importance of providing military and technical assistance to Ukraine, as weapons are needed for victory. "And the victory of Ukraine is a guarantee that Russian aggression will not spread to other European countries," Stefanchuk said.

Stefanchuk thanked Lithuania for comprehensive support of Ukraine on behalf of the state and all the people of Ukraine.

Stefanchuk is on a working visit to Lithuania.
