Canada's defense minister participates in rally in support of Ukraine

Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand personally took part in a rally in support of Ukraine held in Halifax, Canada.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Anand wrote about this on her Twitter page.

“Joined the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and the people of Halifax for a rally in support of Ukraine today. Right across our country, Canadians stand with Ukraine. We will continue to step up and give Ukraine’s heroic defenders the equipment that they need to defeat Putin’s attack,” she wrote.

She also thanked local residents for their active civil position: “I thank the people of Halifax for standing up for the rights and freedoms that everyone deserves. We will continue to support women’s rights in Iran, and the right of Ukrainians to live in peace”.

As reported, this weekend, the International Security Forum was held in Halifax, the capital of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. It is one of the world's leading platforms for discussing issues of international and security policy. Ukraine was represented by about 20 participants this year.
