Zelensky, Sunak discuss defense support, grain deal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have discussed defense support for Ukraine, assistance for passing the winter and coordinated positions ahead of international events.

Zelensky said this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"I had a phone call with British PM Rishi Sunak. We discussed the multifaceted defense support for Ukraine and assistance in enduring the winter period. We also spoke in favor of the continuation of the "grain deal" and agreed on positions on the eve of important international events," Zelensky said.

Earlier reports said that the UK government had frozen assets worth more than 18 billion pounds ($20.5 billion) held by Russian oligarchs, other individuals and businesses sanctioned over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
