If Russia uses nuclear weapons, it will cease to exist - Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that if Russia uses nuclear weapons, the world will no longer be the same, while the Russian Federation will cease to exist.

The leader made the statement at a joint press conference with the President of Greece, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"It seems to me that by what it started, by unleashing in the 21st century a war against its neighbor, with whom it passed very important historical steps and from where it was generally conceived, Russia has already lost this war – by starting it. It's just a matter of time," Zelensky said.

He emphasized that Ukraine is fighting for freedom, and that "we are on our land, the war is one-sided."

The president added that the Russians came to Ukraine’s land, and this is the aggression recognized by the whole world, so "the restoration of our territorial integrity is a matter of time."

"The use of nuclear weapons... The use already indicates that this is a nuclear war, the Third World War. What can we talk about then? What difference does it make what happens after the Third World War? What is the point of talking about it? If Russia uses nuclear weapons, the world we’re living in will no longer exist. That is, there will be a completely different world, in which the power that used nuclear weapons will definitely cease to exist. I am absolutely sure of this," the head of the Ukrainian state emphasized.

According to him, "it will not be a question of someone responding to nuclear strikes, but the question will be within that state itself – they will not hold either their state or their political positions within that state."

"I think that they will have to deal internally with the revolutionary processes within their state. That's why I don't take this seriously. Although, looking at the steps taken by the political and military leadership of Russia on our land, these steps cannot be called adequate or truly military either," said Zelensky.

As reported earlier, U.S. intelligence informed that as of today, they have no information that testifies to the preparation by the Russians for the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine or even that the decision was taken by the Kremlin leadership to pursue with this step.
